ROUTE 66 RENDEZVOUS
MEDIA KIT TAKES TOP HONOR
The Art Institute of California – Inland Empire Recognized
San Bernardino, CA (April 1, 2009) - The 19th Annual Stater Bros. Route 66 Rendezvous Media Kit took first place in the Media/Press Kit category over $150,001 at the 15th Annual Calfest Convention held at the Crowne Plaza Anaheim Resort. Judges evaluated entries on substance, originality, style, concept, copy, graphics and production.
The San Bernardino Convention & Visitors Bureau (SBCVB) teamed together with the Art Institute of California – Inland Empire to design the 2008 Media Kit. “This was a great partnership,” stated Karen Blanco, communications director for the SBCVB. “Working with the Art Institute, we were able to create a very professional media kit utilizing the student’s creativity and graphic capabilities while giving the student on-the-job experience and an opportunity to add to her portfolio.”
Karena Pavon was assigned to the SBCVB for her six-month senior project for the Art Institute. During her assignment she created multiple collateral pieces for the Route 66 Rendezvous, the largest cruisin’ classic car show in California which is held each year during the third week of September. “It was literally a win-win all the way around,” said Blanco.
Wayne Austin, president & CEO of the SBCVB and Blanco presented the 1st place plaque to Karena at the Art Institute on Monday, March 30 with applause from staff and students. Insert QUOTE from someone at Art Institute, president, or Karena’s professor?
